The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation To Host Unity 2022 Ronald W. Walters National Election Day Command Center To Monitor And Protect The Black Vote In Key Battleground and Southern States

Atlanta, GA (November 4, 2022), On Tuesday, November 8th, The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation (NCBCP) will be organizing its Unity ’22 Ronald W. Walters Election Day National Command Center (Unity ’22 RWCC), in partnership with the Ronald W. Walters Leadership & Public Policy Center @ Howard University and The NCBCP TWD Jr. Institute for Leadership, Civic Engagement, Economic Empowerment & Social Justice @Clark Atlanta University. 
 

The NCBP Unity’22 Command Center will: 

● Monitor, track and communicate field operations in battleground states 
● Monitor, report and track Black voter turnout and suppression issues 
● Host 3 media briefings to share field reports and voter protection efforts in real time 
● Host video conference updates from organizers in the states 
● Research and monitor races with Black candidates and other key races 

Unity ‘22 RWCC partners include: A. Philip Randolph Institute, Howard University, Clark Atlanta University, 100 Black Men of America Inc., National African American Clergy Network, National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame, The National Urban League, Values Partnership, #WinWithBlackWomen, The National Council of Negro Women, National Black Justice Coalition, Black Voters Matter and Universal Music Group. 
 

Unity ‘22 RWCC operations will begin from 9AM - 9PM on Tuesday November 8th. The Unity ’22 Command Center is a key component of the NCBCP’s Unity ’20 Black Voting & Power Building Campaign.

The Unity RWCC Election Day Command Center will serve as a hub for Unity ’22 Campaign’s field operations in AL, FL, GA, MD, MI, MS, NC, OH, PA, SC, TX, VA, WI and DC to provide real-time reports of what happens on the ground with black voter turnout, voter suppression/intimidation incidents and more.

Walters Leadership & Policy Center @ Howard University ---- have partnered this year to host the NCBCP Unity ’22 Ronald W. Walters National Election Day Command Center on the campuses of Howard University and Clark Atlanta University. 

The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation (NCBCP) is one of the most active civil rights and social justice organizations in the nation “dedicated to increasing civic engagement, economic and voter empowerment in Black America.” The Black Women’s Roundtable (BWR) is the women and girls’ empowerment arm of the NCBCP. At the forefront of championing just and equitable public policy on behalf of Black women, BWR promotes their health and wellness, economic security & prosperity, education and global empowerment as key elements for success. Black Youth Vote is the youth-led civic leadership, training and organizing arm of the NCBCP.

The NCBCP Unity ’22 Black Voting & Power Building Campaign is a national and multi-state organizing, non-partisan, integrated voter engagement campaign focused on a number of issues, including increasing Black voter turnout and providing voter protection tools for Black voters to ensure their votes are counted in the 2022 Mid-Term Election. The Unity ’22 Campaign is a diverse group of over 60 national and state-based partner organizations and NCBCP/BWR affiliates and networks in ten states (AL, FL, GA, LA, MD, MI, MS, OH, PA, VA and DC).
