BYV! strives to empower and engage young people, ages 18-35, to build our own political power through full civic participation in the political process. Through trainings in civic education, leadership and campaign development, we identify the issues that effect us and use various tactics to influence public policy. Our goal is to continue to build power in our communities and force politicians to make our issues their issues, with young Black leaders at the forefront of setting the agenda, as resonated by our call for This year, Black Youth Vote! is focused on supporting voter registration and GOTV efforts in seven states, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan and Texas, and will be utilizing the 6th Annual Civic Leadership Conference in Atlanta, GA to train and empower young people nation wide in post-election community campaigns.
