Melanie L. Campbell, President & CEO of the National Coalition of Black Civic Participation and Convener of the Black Women's Roundtable to Moderate Global Black Economic Forum's Broadband and Social Justice Panel at Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, LA – (June 29, 2023) On Friday, June 30th Melanie L. Campbell, President & CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation (NCBCP) and Convener of the Black Women’s Roundtable (BWR) will take the center stage at Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans, to moderate a panel focused on broadband and social justice and the impact of broadband affordability, access, and the adoption to Black consumers and Black businesses at the Global Black Economic Forum Stage @ the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center hosted by AT & T. Panel speakers will include: Rev. Shavon Arline-Bradley, President & CEO, National Council of Negro Women, Ron Busby, President & CEO, U. S. Black Chambers of Commerce, Derrick Johnson, President & CEO, NAACP and Rev. Al Sharpton, President & CEO, National Action Network. Panel will be hosted at 12:45 pm – 1:05 pm.

The NCBCP Black Women’s Roundtable, in partnership with Oxfam for America and the Mississippi Black Women’s Roundtable, will also co-host the 3rd Annual “Policy & Power: A New Era For Black Women” Symposium, where President Campbell will serve as a panelist on The Fight for our Lives: Democracy, Health, Wealth and the Planet. The symposium will bring together thought leaders, organizers, and policymakers from across the nation, with a focus on centering Black women at the intersection of economic security, health, and the environment. During the symposium, Campbell will be honored by Oxfam for America as a 2023 Champion of Equality Award Recipient. The event will take place on Friday, June 30th, at 8:45 am – 12 Noon at the DoubleTree Hotel, 300 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA.
